[ When the video first goes on, the screen is covered by a glove-covered hand, but after a slight shaky moment as it's set down on some sort of ledge, the hand retreats, revealing Kakashi standing outside. A few trees, still droopy with melting snow, can be seen in the background. Those familiar with the terrain might recognize it to be near Flame Building. ]

Hello, Luceti.

[ Kakashi dips his head in greeting, since he's addressing all of Luceti. ]

My name is Hatake Kakashi. Some of you may be familiar with me. For those of you who aren't, I'm a shinobi from a village called Konohagakure -- or Konoha for short -- in a country called "Fire Country." I am also the Commander of the Third Division, which is primarily a short-to-mid-range combat division, of the Allied Shinobi Forces. Many of you may be acquainted with or might recognize my comrades, amongst whom include Uzumaki Naruto, Nara Shikamaru, and Rock Lee. [ The names Kakashi lists aren't at random, but selected based on his observations of how recognizable those names would be. ]

The reason why I reach out to all of you today is simple. While things in Luceti currently are peaceful, and it appears we have nothing to worry about, the ever-present threat of the Malnosso and the Third Party remains. Kidnappings still occur, with seemingly no conceivable way to stop or fight them. Should there be an attack on the enclosure, at present, there is no organized force that can fight in concert to protect the enclosure and ensure the safety of civilians who might not be able to fight back. While some of us may be used to working together due to missions and drafts, as far as I am aware, no formal training or maneuvers are ever held to ensure all parties working together are using the best tactics and strategy. And from what I know, there are no formal safety measures in place to protect civilians or evacuate them to safer ground should a fight break out, as it did a few months ago.

On behalf of Konohagakure and Fire Country, by order of Namikaze Minato, the Yondaime Hokage-sama, I would like to formally extend an invitation to anyone who has military training, unique or magical powers, or immense skill in battle strategy, espionage and intelligence-gathering, field medicine, hacking, or other specialized skills to join us in forming an alliance. This alliance would not only give those of us from different worlds a chance to meet and discuss our shared interests in protecting Luceti's inhabitants, but would also give us the opportunity to learn and adapt how to fight with and against those with different training or powers. By conducting shared training sessions, maneuvers, disaster simulations, and taking missions together, we can share resources and power, as well as develop strategy.

As for who's in charge... seeing as we're all from different worlds, it would make much more sense for us to establish a council of leaders from different worlds. We invite leaders from other worlds who might have similar shared interests to contact us, and open a line of dialogue.

[ Speech finished, Kakashi bows to the camera again, then reaches out and turns off the feed. ]

She's kind of disappointed, even if she understands. She looks at the list and the lone name there because GOING BY ORDER OF APPEARANCE FFF]

Lee is the only person to stop by. [Poor guy. He must be nervous as heck.]

Why don't you come inside? I have to talk to you about something. [Opens door wider.]

Sure.

[ Kakashi nods and steps in past Kushina into the house. He assumes she probably wants to talk to him about the jounin exams, or something. ]

[fervidity]

[Something like that. The door closes softly behind them.

As she moves towards the kitchen, she pulls out a chair for Kakashi to sit in before fumbling around a bit with cupboards and dishes. Finally brings the tea she had been making earlier to the table, pouring him a cup before she sits down. Then she reaches for the small centerpiece of her table, fiddling with the leaves.

Finally, she just blurts;]

Is there going to be a Chunin exam soon, too?

[ Kakashi had made sure to toe off his shoes before following Kushina into the kitchen, sitting down in the seat she pulled out for him. But what came next, he totally did not expect. ]

Chuunin exam...?

[ Kakashi looks a little confused, to say the least. ]

[fervidity]

Yeah.

[His confusion confuses her slkgjs. She has no idea he nominated Naruto for Jounin. Not yet.]

Don't you have to be a Chuunin before you're a Jounin? That's one of the things I actually remember from the Academy.

[ Ah, he gets it now. His expression softens, then. ]

Normally, that's the way it goes. But, Naruto's a bit of an exception. I've already nominated him for jounin promotion, but he has to take the exam.

[fervidity]

[She always was really readable, but it's obvious anyway.

There's a long stretch of silence where Kushina just looks shocked.]

Really?

[And then she just breaks out in a huge grin.]

Really?!

[ Kakashi eye scrunches up with his smile as he nods. ]

Really.

[fervidity]

[Her chair scrapes loudly and then topples over as she nearly flings herself out of it and then at Kakashi, wrapping him up in one of her signature hugs.]

Kakashi was definitely not expecting that, and had the air knocked out of him a little with the sudden hug.

...Kushina-san hugs really, really tightly. ]

A-ah, it wasn't any trouble... really...

[ ...squeezing way too tight, Kushina-san.

Kakashi awkwardly wraps an arm around her, hand patting her back a bit. ]

[She's just so relieved for Naruto's sake. He was the only genin of his friends. It didn't make him any less strong, or important, but this would probably make him feel like the odd man out with everyone able to sign up and be Jounin.

And he was a Genin.

OOPS. She releases Kakashi, looking a bit sheepish and then sets her chair upright again before sitting down.]

You told Naruto, right? Did Minato know about this?

[ Kakashi nods, then sits back in his seat, adjusting his vest a little. ]

Minato-sensei's the Hokage, so he was the first one notified. I contacted Naruto about it, too. He knows he's eligible for the exams.

[fervidity]

[Well now SHE WAS THE ODD MAN OUT why didn't they SAY ANYTHING. She doesn't mind so much, it just made finding out from Kakashi much more grand and he got the hug.

Her smile softens a little.]

I bet he was happy.

He was.

[ A beat. ]

That is, until he tried to use me to get a leg up in the exam. I might or might not have told him he has to study for things that don't exist.

[ Yeah, he's totally admitting it to Kushina, because she can always appreciate a good prank. ]

[fervidity]

[And now her smile is crooked and definitely full of cheek.

She always did like Kakashi a little more than other small ninjas. Not so small anymore though. She almost couldn't get her arms around that hug.]

I hope you did, ya know?

Maa, we can't give him an unfair advantage, now, can we?

[ Kakashi lifts his chin slightly, brow quirking, a smirk curling up under his mask. ]

[With three of the Jounin having a close relationship to him, he definitely had one.]

I'll find some books for him to read, too.

[Naruto and Kushina are having a prank war anyway this is perfect.]

I told him he had to write all the ninja laws verbatim.. amongst a number of other things.

[ A pause, and then he turns and reaches back to pull out his journal. ]

Actually, let me show you.

[ And then he opens the journal to this thread ]

[Yep, that confuses even her. She looks at him blankly and takes the journal from him, listening and watching.

His excitement makes her smile, just like she knew he would be. Naruto's reaction to Kakashi's 'advice' is great though and she laughs, knowing that a Jounin exam defintely didn't have 67 formulas of whatever.

He's a little shit and deserves lots of pranks.]

You are risking him being angry at you later, ya know?

[Minato is probably the only person that doesn't because he's so used to their antics.]

Saa, that's what he gets for trying to cheat in such an obvious way.

[ If you're going to cheat, do it smartly, right? ]

Kushina thinks for a moment.]

I don't think he meant to cheat. I think he just wanted help from his sensei.

[Which is nice because she thought he wouldn't listen much to them.]
