[ Well, it seems he's got the basics down.

This isn't the afterlife, even if Kakashi's not entirely sure if he's actually still alive. And the wings don't do anything other than serve a mostly ornamental purpose. Which, in his book, means that they're completely useless and have about as much function as a second belly-button or a third nipple. Either way, they're itchy and uncomfortable and he had to cut holes in his flak vest so they weren't crushed against his body. A flak vest that was kindly delivered to him by his sensei, along with the rest of his gear. (He's only too relieved that it wasn't Naruto or Sakura or someone else who came across him when he was still in that relative state of undress -- what, without the mask and all.)

So here he is, fully dressed, with his journal-cum-communication device in his hand, flipped on. He supposes he should say hello this way since it would be easier to do this than to hunt down every shinobi of Konoha individually. It probably would also be useful for him to introduce himself to the rest of the network as well.

He's sitting on a tree stump while Minato goes off to do something IDEK ok and has his signature I Am Bored expression on his face. Or rather, lack of expression.

The edges of his wings, silver and tipped in black, flutter slightly. ]

Ah, is this thing on?

[ He brings the camera a little closer then, to make sure it's properly capturing him. Once he's sure, he raises a hand in something of a wave.

This is starting to feel like some sort of speed dating thing, minus the actual person sitting in front of him. Not that he's ever actually done speed dating, but he assumes that's how it'd work. ]

Yo. My name is Hatake Kakashi. I'm a shinobi by trade.

[ What does one say in introductions? Likes, dislikes, dreams, and hobbies? Ah, he supposes he can do that. ]

I'm not the kind of guy who talks about his likes and dislikes... My dreams are...hmm.... [ a beat ] none of your business. And I have many hobbies. None of which I want to tell you.

[ Another beat. ]

[Law perks up a brow. Kakashi, you may have never been in Luceti before, and you have never met this guy, but that's the gleam of recognition in his eyes nonetheless.

It sounds a bit like a play on the village hidden in the leaves which very well might be what this guy is getting at. Which doesn't surprise Kakashi, given how many of them are here. Though, perhaps it's mere coincidence. ]

Why he'd call Luceti that is... well, if Minato really gave him the rundown, Kakashi might suspect the other reason why this village was compared to a ninja village. As this is not the first time Law's used this term... but the first time he's used it to a shinobi.

... and you're staying at House 20 if what is being said in Hinata's conversation is correct? He'll have to tap Itachi on the shoulder and let him know. Provided his lover isn't already following this.]

... we~ell, that depend on your perspective and home situation, really. But probably not.

[ Yeah, Kakashi's not particularly thrilled to be here. Even if it is a bit peaceful and the clouds are awfully fluffy. ]

Mm, and the guide. It's a lot of material to read through, though, so I haven't had a chance to really go through it in depth, yet.

After being here so long, I feel it covers basically the bare bones of this place. But still, even then, I agree it's a lot.

How long have you been here?

Over two and a half years. It'll be three in a few months.

[ A lot can happen in three years. Kakashi hopes he certainly won't be stuck here for that long. ]

That's... quite a while.

It is, and I'm not by far the resident with the longest stay.

That'll be over five years, if you're curious. We have people here from the very beginning of this enclosure.

[ Five years ago, he wasn't even a sensei yet. He can't imagine spending five years here, in this place that isn't home. ]

Don't you miss your home?

... more than you can ever know.

[He misses his nakama.

... but pain is no reason not to move forward. And he doesn't want to leave yet.

There are things he wants to see through. Because leaving here right now isn't the same thing as never coming back again.

And then there is Itachi.]

[ In many ways, Kakashi is very lucky. He has so many of his loved ones here. Even ones he'd lost. His sensei. Kushina-san. Even Asuma. People he never imagined he'd see again while alive.

They can all have a second chance now.

Kakashi's not sure how much of that is a blessing in the end. Or if this might just set him up to lose them all over again. ]

Do you have friends here?

Yes. I do.

[More than back home, anyway.

And some more than friend in the end. Family and practical spouse.

No man is an island. That holds true for Trafalgar Law as well.]

[ Some men can be islands. Obito certainly turned himself into one. ]

Sometimes that's hard to believe around here, but it's true.

How do you spend your days?

Very busily.

I'm head doctor over at the Battle Dome, and I have a number of projects and other obligations on the side. Add in trying to have a social and personal life and the days get full.

[He keeps himself very busy for a reason. Coping mechanisms come in many forms.]

Is it quite different from the way you used to live your life?

Mmm, yes and no. I've always kept busy... just some of the things I kept busy with are unavailable or impractical here.

[Naturally. There are limits to how much he'll let a person feel him out on the first encounter, even if he's being indulgent here.]
